The Legacy of Brentford Handfield

For over three decades, the name “Brentford Handfield” has been synonymous with musical excellence in the Turks and Caicos Islands. As a multi-talented instrumentalist, prolific songwriter, and certified Music Educator since 1993, Brentford has shaped the local music scene with unforgettable performances and hit songs including “Gimme Peace,” “Come on Down to TI,” and “My Goal.”

A Musical Prodigy Continues the Tradition

Brenten Handfield is a versatile musician from the Turks and Caicos Islands, known for his artistry on both drums and steel pan. Currently entering his final year at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, Brenten is pursuing a degree in Jazz Performance. He has performed extensively throughout his home islands and abroad, often as one half of the dynamic father-son duo Sax ‘O Pan Serenades. Their music blends rich Caribbean traditions with soulful improvisation, earning them a dedicated following. Brenten has also shared the stage with acclaimed trumpeter Etienne Charles during a special performance in Cuba, further solidifying his growing reputation in the jazz world. With deep roots in island culture and a passion for excellence, Brenten continues to expand his musical voice while honoring where he comes from.
